My name is Nina Montemayor and I am the School Counselor at Heritage Middle School. This is my first year as a middle school counselor and I absolutely love it. This is the perfect grade and age to get students going on a career path that will carry them through high school and beyond. It is also the time when they most need the academic, social, and/or emotional support from trusting adults. We have awesome students and a wonderful faculty and staff. Yes, I am blessed!
My previous experience was as a high school Spanish teacher and as a high school counselor, which I also enjoyed; however, it was a different type of excitement and an adrenaline rush. I graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Education. I also graduated from West Texas A&M University with a Master’s Degree in School Counseling.
I am blessed to have one son (Paul), two daughters (Kelly and Krystal), and four grandchildren (Austin, Bryxxton, Natalee, and Fenix. And yes, I have one great-granddaughter (Azalea). They are my world and for whom I breathe.
