Frenship ISD Ranked as Best School District in Lubbock and #14 in Texas by Niche

Out of more than 1,000 districts across the state, the newly released rankings show Frenship moved up from the #22 spot to the #14 spot for Best School Districts in Texas and the #14 Best Places to Teach in Texas.

In addition to the statewide rankings, Frenship ISD was also voted the #1 Best School District in the Lubbock Area and #1 Best Places to Teach in the Lubbock Area.

“Frenship is such a special place – it is a home, a community that prides itself on a rich tradition of excellence” said Frenship ISD Superintendent Dr. Michelle McCord. “We proudly serve more than 11,500 students and 1,350 staff members and that number keeps growing each year. These students, staff, families, and the Frenship community are the reason why Frenship is such a special place to go to school and work.”

Niche is an online platform that provides insights and reviews of K- 12 schools, colleges, and cities nationwide. The rankings are determined through a rigorous analysis of data collected from multiple state and national sources such as the U.S Department of Education, the National Centers for Education Statistics, Civil Rights Data Collection, and surveys and reviews submitted by students, staff, and parents.

Several factors are considered during the ranking process including academics, graduation rates, teacher salaries, school culture, extracurricular activities, student and staff experiences, and more.

Niche gave Frenship an overall grade of “A+”. In addition to ranking in the top 15 districts in Texas, Frenship ranked in the top 1% for Best School Districts in America, coming in at #149 out of 10,932.

Frenship currently serves Frenship families across 15 campuses located in the City of Wolfforth, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, and Hockley County. Designated as a fast-growth district, Frenship welcomes hundreds of new students each year, and the district is currently building a ninth elementary school scheduled to open in August of 2024 and a second high school scheduled to open in August of 2025.
