Reynolds passion for theatre started when she was ten years old. Performing in all aspects of musical theatre productions throughout her school year in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona. She also spent her time working and performing for a in a non-profit children's Theatre in Tucson. Reynolds moved to Lubbock in 2014 to attend Lubbock Christian University, to pursue a Theatre Education degree.
Reynolds is a relatively new member of the Frenship Family, as she is on her second year at Heritage Middle School. Her students are currently working on their spring plays and a select group of students are working on our UIL One Act Play. They will perform the play, "I Never Saw Another Butterfly", based on the poetry created in a concentration camp by the Jewish children of Prague. Reynolds is so proud of how her students have handled the source material of this play and how they have been working hard since November to be ready for the contest this Saturday.
“One of my favorite things about Frenship is how much emphasis is placed on the arts, “said Reynolds. “How our arts programs are seen as valid and crucial to the development and education of our students.”
Reynolds is most proud of the opportunity to create a space for students to foster their creativity and give them the tools to discover their strengths as performers and as people.
“When my students create a character through acting choices that they find on their own and are passionate enough about to be able to defend, then I know I have done my job.”
Congratulations Emily!
