The Central Office annual Chili Cook-Off is back, serving up warm bowls and an even warmer welcome for new teachers. With plenty of flavors and friendly competition, this event is all about showing first year educators they’re part of the Frenship family.

Last week our Frenship Orchestra students took the stage at the TMEA Orchestra All-Region Auditions. Several Frenship students rose to the challenge securing a spot in the All-Region Orchestra group.

This week, Frenship Middle School students engaged in an informative session about the voting process, learning about voter registration, polling, and the significance of elections through a hands-on experience facilitated by representatives from the Lubbock County Election Office.

This past weekend, Frenship hosted its annual Wellness Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness at Peoples Bank Stadium. The Frenship Community gathered together to honor those who have fought and are currently fighting against breast cancer.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 until October 15 every year. Through interactive lessons and events, teachers across the district are honoring Hispanic histories, cultures, and heritage every day.

Recently, three Frenship siblings had a very special surprise in the middle of their school day. Their dad returned home from his six-month deployment in Saudi Arabia, and his first stop was to surprise his children. Tears of joy filled each of their eyes when reuniting with him.

Last week, students from Willow Bend Elementary and Terra Vista Middle School put their spelling skills to the test at the District Spanish Spelling Bee. The top spellers will advance to the Regional Spanish Spelling Bee next month.

This month’s theme for Mental Health Minute is Connection. As a component of the 2021 Strategic Plan Initiative, the goal of the Mental Health Minute is to spread awareness of mental health across the Frenship District.

Throughout the month of September and into October all four Frenship middle schools and Frenship High School have been prioritizing mental health and suicide prevention awareness through educational programs and community initiatives.

The Frenship Tigers will play Odessa High on October 25 at 7 p.m. at Peoples Bank Stadium for the 2024 Homecoming game. Check out all the Homecoming festivities here!
