Air Battles (Drone Competition)

Welcome to AirBattles, hosted by Frenship High School! In this intermediate program, teams made of 4 students compete amongst area schools in a two-part competition. The first part, two students, a pilot and navigator, will manually fly and maneuver their drones in a timed obstacle course. In the second part, two programmers will use coding skills to problem-solve and navigate a drone through a series of obstacles on a playing field on its own. This is a great opportunity for students to improve their coding and teamwork skills and a great stepping stone to prepare for our more advanced program, FTC. Due to the high interest and limited space, students are selected through an application process.
