Each Spring, Heritage Middle School will induct current 7th graders that meet the criteria stated in our bylaws (see resources) into National Junior Honor Society. NJHS is an honor society that members will participate in their 8th grade year. Four officers will be elected by current members of the NJHS and will serve their office during their 8th grade year. All members will need to maintain the high ideals of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship throughout their 8th grade year.
Each year, NJHS serves in Frenship, Lubbock and around the world!
- Since 2011, HMS NJHS has participated in FISD Elementary Fall Festivals and Fun Days.
- Each year, NJHS holds a fundraiser for UMC Miracle Pennies. We have raised over $1500 each year that has stayed locally at UMC through various fundraising activities such as dress up days, hamster ball races, jousting competitions, duct taping teachers to the wall, and the HMS Dodgeball tournament.
- NJHS participates in Operation Christmas Child each year as well as making hygiene kits for Lubbock Impact.
- NJHS also makes hospital bags for both pediatric and adult patients each spring for UMC.
