Hello!

This is my 8th year in FISD and my thirteenth year teaching mathematics. I graduated Cum Laude from UTPB with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology where I received an outstanding graduate award for teaching middle grades. I was also a Math Teacher Mentor for the Texas Regional Collaborative with Region 17 for a total of five years.

Grading Guidelines:

*Almost all of our graded assignments will be done digitally on Schoology. All due dates are posted on those assignments & missing work or unfinished assignments can be easily found by going to the GRADES tab in Schoology & scrolling through that six weeks grading period.

District Assessments & any paper assignments will be communicated to students.

• Students have two attempts (I take the higher grade) on all Schoology assignments and can do an alternate assignment for a quiz/test to bring the grade up to a max of 85. They do not have to immediately do their 2nd attempt. They can get help from me, a parent, etc. to correct that grade.

***If a zero is made twice, the zero stays.

• Any grades that appear on progress reports are closed for correction/completion once they appear on the 3rd six weeks progress report. Any missing work will be a zero.
• Paper assignments can be corrected up to a 70 within a week of receiving that graded paper. They must turn it into my CORRECTIONS tray corrected in a colored ink or have the new answer highlighted with an explanation written.
• I typically drop their lowest 2-5 formative grades at the end of the six weeks if we have more than enough grades. (> 30 grades).

Academic Dishonesty:

• the student will receive a zero on the assignment and a BMT for cheating
• formative grades will remain zeroes if due to cheating and test grades will have an alternate assessment if they’re wanting to replace the test grade.
